Self-assessment for prospective CLIMBS Course Trainers:

Is CLIMBS right for you?

CLIMBS is designed to be offered locally.

Is there need in your district for a professional development course that builds capacity, increases collaboration, and improves education for ELLs?

CLIMBS Trainers need to deliver the CLIMBS Course at least once and view support webinars in order to become fully licensed.

Do you have approval to deliver a CLIMBS Course in the semester following the CLIMBS ToT Institute? OR Have you been approved to offer the CLIMBS course (or four full-day meetings with at least two weeks between each meeting)?

  • Is the CLIMBS Course already scheduled on your districtâ??s professional development calendar?
  • Will you have time to plan each module and view the asynchronous support webinars?

CLIMBS is intended for trainers who have some experience facilitating professional development for adult learners.

Do you have experience facilitating adult learning? If not, do you have a colleague with this experience with whom you could co-facilitate?

CLIMBS is ideally facilitated by educators with experience working with English language learners.

Do you have K-12 experience working with English language learners? If not, do you have a colleague with this experience with whom you could co-facilitate?
